We are a family-run cattery obsessed with the Bengal, breeding scientifically for health and genetic diversity while curating the full rainbow of colours the breed can produce, and raising every kitten as a genuine, chaotic member of our family.
At the heart of what we do is health first and foremost. Every king and queen is DNA tested for inherited conditions, heart screened by a board-certified feline cardiologist, and health checked routinely before breeding.
We also take genetic diversity seriously. With importation of new lines now banned in Australia, we scientifically match every pairing to increase diversity rather than tighten an already small gene pool, maintaining a six-plus generation pedigree database to keep every breeding above 85% average kinship. And we're honest about our home: it's chaos, in the best way. A teenager and a house full of Bengals means our kittens are bred and nurtured to be bulletproof. They don't hide in corners.
Every family who joins the Fairytail Forest Kitten List can expect the same standard, every time — no exceptions and no shortcuts.
Every king and queen is DNA tested for PRA-b and PK-def, heart screened by a feline cardiologist, and health checked routinely, no guesswork, ever.
We scientifically match every pairing to increase genetic diversity with each mating, not decrease it, and maintain a six-plus generation pedigree database to prove it.
Every kitten grows up in our home, alongside our daughter and the rest of the family, not isolated out the back.
We're here for every question, from the day you join the Kitten Update List to years down the track, for the whole life of your cat.

The Bengal began with a dream: to invent a lap leopard by breeding the wild Asian Leopard Cat with domestic cats. What resulted is a fully domesticated breed with a wild look, chatty and active because they're intelligent and energetic, not because of any temperament issue. At Fairytail, we deliberately curate the colours and patterns that have always existed in the breed but were tamped down for decades in favour of brown, so the Bengal's full palette gets its moment.
